Wood Finishes in Interior Design

We’ve been getting a lot of questions lately in regards to wood colors. It is a common misconception that all the wood in a room should be the same color. There is some flexibility when it comes to wood finishes. You can have up to 3 different wood colors or finishes without clashing  in your design.  If you have a few contrasting wood finishes, it will give your design more depth and complexity as opposed to just sticking to a single color. Using the same wood color throughout your design can become boring and lack personality. Play around with colors to see which work best for you. Not all design is created equal so consult with a design professional to make sure. In most cases multiple wood finishes are perfectly fine. The pictures below are a perfect example of blending wood finishes in a design plan.
